The web portal was designed so that students can use it on their laptops in class to supplement their learning and download and access in class materials. The benifit of a web portal is that when they go home to do the homework or study they can access the same interface and system from home to create a very consistent experience. It includes resource downloads, homework download/upload, discussion forums and time management tools.

The mobile version was designed primarily for parents to access student grades and current assignments of their children. It notifies and tracks current assignments that a student may have and allows custom task creation as well as task "check off." It can also locate the student using GPS and WiFi information in their student issued laptops.

The physical part of this project helps cement the color system from the web and mobile portals of the project. Anything associated with homework/classrooms is orange, resources are green, discussion is purple and faculty elements are the school color of teal. This is true in the digital space and the physical one.

50 Logos in 50 Days

PHOTOSHOP

ILLUSTRATOR

The goal of this project was to spend 50 minutes a day for 50 days creating a logo for anything. It could be a real company, a fake company, or even just a phrase or word. This allowed me to experiement with a lot of styles that I hadn’t had the opportunity to try before and encouraged me to work quicker and trust my instincts. It was a lot of fun and I can’t wait for my next 50 something in 50 days project.

Promotional Posters

The concept for the printed campaign of my Child's Play rebrand was to remind the viewer of their favorite games as a child and focus those happy memories on Child’s Play and how you can help sick children have fun with games. This was accomplished by replicating famous video game typography but replacing the words with inspirational messages.

Charity Website

WORDPRESS

HTML/CSS/jQUERY

The website concept was to create a dimensional “Hifi” experience that reflected physical controllers and gaming elements. The main nav imitates a controller and the background repeats the Red Green Blue theme from the motion spot while sticking to physical video game elements, in this case the component connectors.

AFTEREFFECTS

This is how an iAd could be presented, a motion banner ad-like introduction into a mini-game that reminds the user that games bring joy to people and encourages them to donate.

Branding Guidelines

INDESIGN

The branding for the project included a 28 page style guide which included but is not limited to logo, business cards, letterhead, envolopes, t-shirts, and promotional poster guidelines. One thing that people could do to donate to Child's Play is to purchase a digital t-shirt for their XBL avatar which requires no physical production costs to cover.

TABLET

BROADCAST

This Social CNN App was designed as a second screen experience to suppliment and enhance the CNN viewing experience. The iPad experience allows you to follow public opinion on whatever is currently on-air or in the video archives by tagging everything with a Twitter hashtag. By using this instead of other keywords the user can easily find tweets about any video, or any video from tweets.

The iPad experience is perfectly set up to browse either by tweet or video. The "Grid View" shows off which videos or tweet are most popular by differing in size based on tweet volume. Smaller grids can be tapped for more information. The "Subject View" shows all tweets based on any specific CNN related hashtag, or all videos on each tag.

BROADCAST

The broadcast experience uses the lower third of the screen to show what specific content is currently being viewed like a typical news channel, but with the social approach it also lists the key hashtags that the story relates to. This allows the viewer to quickly comment or consume content based on what they are seeing. The system depends on using all sorts of global hashtags, not just CNN created show specific tags like #AC360.
